Sign Up for Membership at Green Fest

Are you ready to become a South King Tool Library (SKTL) member? We're happy to announce that you can do just that by visiting our booth at the Family Green Fest on Saturday, Aug. 13th, 9 am - 3 pm at the Federal Way Farmers Market. A SKTL membership is good for everyone 16 and older in a single household, or designated representatives from a nonprofit or small business. Even if you sign up on Aug. 13th, your membership won't start until we open later this year. Volunteer to Earn a Year's Membership

Did you know that you can earn your membership for the year simply by putting in some volunteer time with us? It's true! You can enjoy a full year's access to tool checkout, including instruction on proper use, in exchange for 15 hours of volunteer help over the course of that year. Our current volunteer needs include: * Sorting tool donations (good tool knowledge preferred) * Tool cleaning/repair (good tool knowledge preferred) * Labeling tools & entering them into our database * Steering committee (help plan, budget, fundraise, outreach) * Website/social media support * Grant writing If you'd like to help but aren't sure how, email us:

When Will SKTL Open?

You've been hearing about South King Tool Library (SKTL) for months now. Maybe you've already attended a Repair Café or dropped off a tool donation. Now you're ready to become a member and start borrowing tools! We're sorry to keep you waiting, but the beginning is in sight. We have a location, we have nonprofit status thanks to fiscal sponsorship from Seattle Tilth, and we have a steadily growing tool inventory. We even have some start-up funding from King County for our building set up and the first few months' salary for our head tool librarian. All that's missing is the actual building. Get It Fixed at South King Repair Café

Do you have something laying around the house that needs fixing? If you can carry it into Federal Way City Hall on Monday, Sept. 26th, between 3 to 6:30 pm, we may just be able to help. The South King Repair Café is a project of the King County EcoConsumer Program, the City of Federal Way and us - South King Tool Library (SKTL). Bring your broken or torn household items (including clothing and electronics) and our amazing team of fixers will get to work. It's free!
