Here's how to get your SKTL membership.

Interested in borrowing tools from South King Tool Library? It's easy and open to anyone 18 years or over, for households, small businesses, service groups and more. Becoming a member is easier than getting a traditional library card. Give it a try - SIGN UP TO BORROW TOOLS!

If you find value in our service, we happily accept donations.  One way to donate is by choosing a membership option.  It's not required, but you opt for that while signed into your member account.

IMPORTANT:  You must complete your membership application and signed waiver acknowledgement before you arrange tool checkout.

HOURS FOR FEDERAL WAY:

Mon 11 AM - 1 PM

Wed 2 - 4 PM (Winter, PST)

Wed 4 - 6 PM (Summer, PDT)

Sat 11 AM - 1 PM

HOURS FOR AUBURN:

Thursdays 4 - 7 PM

Saturdays 4 - 7 PM

You're ready to borrow tools! Now what?

​

  1. SIGN IN TO YOUR SKTL ACCOUNT, select tools from the inventory, choose pick up and return days and use the checkout cart to complete the reservation. If you don't see what you are looking for, contact us at 253-237-2290 or info@southkingtools.org. We have some tools that are not in the inventory system yet.  A reservation isn't required, but recommended for popular seasonal items.

  2. Once the reservation is approved, you're all set. FIND US ON THE MAP

  3. Arrive at SKTL during our open hours.

  4. When it's time to return your tools, come on back during your return time slot and we'll get your tools checked in.

Have tools to donate?

Our inventory is always expanding as we accept, test and input new tool donations. If you want to see what's available before becoming a member, take a look at our CURRENT INVENTORY.

Do you have tools to donate? EMAIL US! Here's some guidance:

​

ACCEPTED: Seasonal or specialty tools, 18v batteries (Ryobi or Black & Decker), pressure washers, a 10" compound miter saw, sanders, reciprocating saws (sawzalls), augers, log splitters, bits and blades, safety equipment, organizational supplies, tools that are clean, gently used or like new, have all their parts and work

NOT CURRENTLY NEEDED: Corded lawn mowers, manual lawn mower, jack stands, drills, consumables like nails, screws, bolts, washers, nuts, wire, and anything big or bulky

​

NEVER ACCEPTED: Anything gas powered, broken, leaking or missing the parts or power supplies. Building supplies like paint and hardware can go to Habitat for Humanity.
