What does an SKTL Repair Café look like?

Well, on the third Saturday in March—for example—one of our volunteers (or, as we call them, “fixers”) stepped forward to help a visitor. The fixer was Paul Savino and the visitor was Tiny the Bunny. Tiny has a rare leg ailment that limits his mobility.

Paul took a photo of Tiny to determine his measurements, and emailed the photo to a friend who will use a 3D printer to crank out a small trailer for Tiny to get around on. Tiny and SKTL thank you, Paul!

Meanwhile, other community members brought in a variety of small appliances—including a sewing machine, clock, blender—and some worn clothing for repair and mending. And finally, out on the back porch, Scott sharpened up some knives and garden tools. 138 items were repaired or sharpened at this Repair Cafe.

Our next Repair Cafe will be June 8th, 10am-1pm.

Please join us at our site at 1700 S. 340th Street, Federal Way (Masonic Lodge).

All are welcome!
