Community stewards
launching in federal Way
summer 2026

federal way program
The project is the Federal Way Parks Community Stewardship Program, is a community-led restoration effort that will improve water quality, habitat health, and environmental education at Celebration Park, Steel Lake Annex, and Hylebos Blueberry Farm Park in Federal Way, Washington. Led by South King Tool Library with Free the Green, We Love Our City, the City of Federal Way, and Orca Conservancy, we will bring volunteer trainings and monthly work parties to give hands on experience learning about invasive removal, mulching, and native planting. This effort aims to reduce stormwater pollution flowing into the Hylebos Creek Basin and ultimately Puget Sound while building long-term stewardship capacity in a our community.
