About the event
Saturday 8/29 from 9am-12pm
We are planning on using the Stream Team testing kit to look at the water quality of Brook Lake adjacent to the Hylebos Farm and perhaps the streams nearby.
This is a "citizen science" level of testing things like PH and turbidity, as well as general macro invertebrate assessments.
Training and kits are available from the City of Federal Way's Water Quality department, but will not be available at this event.
You can still assist coordinators with site mapping, plant and zone assessments, and co-create the goals for each site as well as "subzones" for future work party activation.
We might be ambitious, but for now we also plan to also go to the Steel Lake Annex in the afternoon. Let us know if you would like to join us!
