About the event
Join us for the Rain Garden Work Party at the South King Tool Library in Federal Way every Friday in September! From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, volunteers will come together to enhance our local green spaces by planting native species, maintaining existing plants, and improving the overall health of the rain garden. In addition to hands-on gardening, participants will have the opportunity to learn about various gardening tools and techniques, making this event both educational and enjoyable. These weekly gatherings not only beautify the area but also promote environmental sustainability by managing stormwater and supporting local wildlife. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves and dress appropriately for outdoor work. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community and discover the vital role rain gardens play in urban environments.
This program is partially funded through a Public Participation Grant from the Washington Department of Ecology.
