Check kitchen, laundry and bathroom ventilation to ensure they are functioning properly. Clean the refrigerator coils and ensure there is adequate clearance around the appliance for good airflow

Clean the dryer vent duct. Inspect all electrical cords, wall plates and outlets for damage and wear

Inspect foundation, basement or crawl space for cracks and water damage. Make certain electrical wires coming into your home have the required clearance and do not sag. Fertilize the lawn

Clean gutters and downspouts. Ensure water is draining away from the home’s foundation. Check all alarm systems (smoke, carbon monoxide and propane) to ensure they are functioning properly. Check your fire extinguisher, invert several times if a dry chemical. Drain water heater (flush and fill)

Check roof for damaged shingles/tiles and trim tree branches away from roof. Service heating and cooling systems.

Check for leaks in plumbing and make sure aerators are not clogged. Make certain the attic is properly ventilated and shows no signs of dampness

Replace any worn faucet washers or cartridges. Clean the dryer vent duct
